From Russia With Love (1963)
Following the success of Dr. No the previous year, Sean Connery returned as James Bond, together with director Terence young, and their tailor Anthony Sinclair.
The budget for the second James Bond film was twice that of the first, allowing the wardrobe department to increase their investment in Bond's bespoke finery. Sinclair more than doubled the number of suits made for Dr. No - from 3 to 007!
The assortment included what would become all-time favourites - three Flannel, two Grey Glen Check and, making its first appearance, a Grey Sharkskin. A Dupioni Silk Suit (featured in the famous shot of Sinclair fitting Connery) rounded the collection - all worn with Cocktail Cuff Shirts and Grenadine Neckties.
Another staple wardrobe item, The Midnight Blue Dinner Suit, was briefly shown in the pre-title sequence, but used extensively in promotional images for the film.
